State of the Judicature 2016
On Friday 29 April, the ABA, in partnership with the LCA, hosted the State of the Judicature Address in Hobart. The event was attended by Chief Justices around the country, the Chief Justice of NZ and representatives from all State and Territory Bars. The keynote address was given by the Chief Justice of the High Court, the Hon. Robert French AC who highlighted a number of issues of significance including access to justice for women in the context of domestic violence; public confidence in the courts and the judiciary; and initiatives to increase the profile and presence of Australia’s legal profession internationally.
